The problem

I wanted to turn a very specific, private moment - meeting someone months before and never saying anything - into something that felt universal instead of like reading a diary entry out loud, using only myself as the source material and my own voice for every part.

What I tried

I wrote and recorded rough vocals first, then processed them through AI so they wouldn't sound like my own voice, and layered drums, bass, keyboards, percussion, and synth separately in Ableton and Bandlab. To push the track further from a single-person bedroom recording, I ran different takes through AI voice-over processing so each one would read as a distinct contributing voice.

What I changed

The early stems had every instrument layered in constantly, which flattened the song. I went back through and reshaped the arrangement so instruments drop in and out instead, and adjusted how the AI-processed vocal takes were blended so they read as distinct "band members" rather than one voice looped on top of itself.

Why

Making it sound like a full band instead of a solo bedroom recording mattered because it turns a private feeling into something that sounds like it belongs to more people than just me - proof, to me, that a personal moment can become a shared one.
